But that label works well here; it fits Robert Church & The Holy Community. For the most part, Wizard On Fire is decidedly more pop friendly than Le Rouge, Robert Church And The Holy Community’s last Series II release. It has more flare, more flame, more verbosity. Wizard On Fire can be found accompanying four other records; it’s the first installment of a promising new collaboration between Series II Records, whose releases pop up occasionally here on FensePost, and Eggnog Records out of New Zealand. || Bluesbunny Reviews ||"Even in these times of recession, there seems to be no shortage of releases from small record labels at the lo-fi indie pop end of the musical spectrum and so from Series Two Records (in the USA) and Eggnog Records (in Australia) comes the "Wizard in Fire EP" from Sweden's Robert Church and the Holy Community. This EP is hardly a genre busting affair being catchy, full of recycled riffs and yet remaining light as a feather. True, "Old Friend" is a bit too familiar but "Larusso" manages to be just a wee bit offbeat with an almost - deliberately? - inept guitar balancing its "angry bear…" refrain. The star of the show is the final track, "Panda Love", that takes off up an electro dark alley occupied by the ghosts of the Yellow Magic Orchestra and hundreds of long forgotten would be rock guitarists. It's groovy! This endearing release comes as a sweet little 3" inch CD and is a limited edition of 50 copies."
