Nixon are a group from Sweden who are starting a stream of recent releases. Though they had been
together for a few years previous (some of the recordings on this EP are from 1996) they have only recently had proper
releases. Following a contribution to a four-band split 7" on Benno, they have
put out the Climbing Walls EP on Sandcastle, which will soon be followed by an album on Black Bean & Placenta.
Nixon's CDEP will feature 4 studio efforts and two demos for extra added bonus. They feel they couldn't
capture the original spirit of some of their demos in the studio, so instead of letting them go unreleased you might get to
hear them. Nixon play 80's guitar pop fashion, bringing inspiration from the likes of the Smiths, McCarthy, the Field
Mice, the Housemartins and Belle & Sebastian. Fervently melancholy and softly passionate, with hearts on sleeves
fluttering in the wind.
