GONE FISHIN'!

hey folks! starting on MAY 5TH, Popgun Recordings will be shut down for about a month and will resume business starting in June. though hopefully, we'll be up and running before that....
i'll be away in Athens, Georgia, checking out the town that i am planning on moving to in the fall. i'll also be busy writing and recording with The French Toasts while i am there. it is a working holiday of sorts.

secondly, when i get back to California, i'll be searching for a new tape deck. my dual-cassette deck died on me! this is the fourth cassette deck that i've killed in almost ten years. i am borrowing one now, in order to fill out orders, but admittedly, it is not in good shape - i am not too happy with the quality with the tapes i've dubbed off that deck. so, when i get back, i am hoping to find a used one that is in decent shape that i can borrow or purchase at a nice price. if not, then i'm gonna have to save up and get a new tape deck. if anyone in the SoCal area has a dual-cassette deck that you don't want or need, please get in touch with me!

thirdly, i have a backlog of releases that i need to work on. i have recordings and artwork from many bands already - THEE MOTHS, THE BRIGHTER DAY GANG, THE SENSORSCOPES, PAINT YOUR WAGON RED, APPLE ORCHARD, HOUSE 1 AND 2, THE GETAWAY BUGS, everybody participating in the HOW TO BLING ON A SHOESTRING comp, just to name a few - but i haven't had the time to sit down and get the releases going. i am hoping that shutting down the label for a short while will help free up some time.

lastly, my crafting label, EXTRA CREDIT CRAFTS is starting to take off. i'm starting to get my stuff into more shops and on-line boutiques. i've also been recently selected as one of the winners of this open call design contest on FredFlare.com and will be selling some specially designed crafties through them. in addition to that, i've also been asked to participate and design accessories for a fashion show that will be happening at the end of summer. and i'll also be going on tour with RED PONY CLOCK again, in July and August, and plan on making more crafts to sell at our merch table for gas money. so basically....i'm gonna need some free time to sew!

so yeah. i'm gonna need some time to sort all that stuff out. i apologize to those of you that have ordered tapes recently or have been waiting for a couple of weeks already. you will get your tapes, i promise! it's just taking much longer than i was expecting. i wish i had more hands, more time, a couple of clones, a personal assistant....

i have more news and more details about many other things, but i will save it for when i get back. please check back in about a week-and-a-half for another update. in the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please email me and we'll sort things out. again, sorry for any inconvenience and take care.
