Incredible Force of Junior
Steve on drums
Chris on guitar and vocals
Susan on bass and vocals
Incredible Force of Junior are one of the few pop bands from Seattle. They play giddy, fast, sugar-high songs; their music is infectious, contagious, super good-time stuff that will entice you to put on your dancin' shoes! Creative and dapper, these kids are the hottest thing to hit the scene recently. And off we go!
What do you think of the Seattle music scene? It's like a giant marshmallow peeps coat.

I heard a rumor that you're working on a full-length. When should we expect it? Do you have any interesting recording stories? The full length should be out in late spring/early summer. The best recording story we have is that we recorded some stuff at World Pizza. Susan had her amp by the oven. You could hear the pizzas baking in the background. Total World Pizza sound system!

Tell us about Swingset Coca-Cola 23! Swingset records was our first and so far only attempt to put out a record. We had recorded Greatest Thing and Jet for another tiny label but they decided they didn't want it, so we said fuck them we'll put it out ourselves. To this day many of them sit underneath the kitchen table. One day we got a call from a woman in S.F. who also had a label called Swingset. She asked us if we would change our name so people wouldn't get confused so we did, to Swingset Cocacola 23.

If IFOJ ruled the world, what would be the first three things you'd do?
Susan: Crush capitalism.
Chris: Decriminalize and liberate.
Steve: Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

What do you do when you aren't playing music?
Chris: Plot and scheme.
Steve: I'm a vitim of cosmetic testing in my spare time.
Susan: Cut the ribbing off the bottom of sweaters.

What's the strangest thing that's happened to you as a result of being in a band? Getting asked to be interviewed!

Do you all listen to the same kind of music? What do you listen to when you're all together? Well, we bought this old reel to reel at a thrift store and it came with some tapes. They were recorded off the radio and sent abroad in the 60's. Those have been a big hit lately. Also, a tape that came with Slop Hut 'zine. It's the personal diary of this guy's sexual escapades. It's insane.

What's your favorite IFOJ song?
Chris: I wouldn't let you lose my toothbrush unless I really cared about you.
Susan: little pink tongue.
Steve: free bird.

Any last messages for Today's Youth?
Steve: Don't let an opportunity to invest in a good 401 K plan pass you by.
Susan: It's i before e except after c or when followed by "ay" as in neighbor or weigh [no it's not! --ed.].
Chris: Never white after Labor Day.
