Cavalry Thrills were born of the break-up of California post pop band, Phoebe Quest. The group consists of Zachary Stanley manning the helm and playing all of the instruments. Augmented with a rotating gaggle of people who might play on something if in the room, or on the roof. Now residing in sunny Minneapolis, the sound has been re-evaluated and instead of trying to describe it with stodgy comparisons I shall use real adjectives.

Whipped with rusty guitar strings, reverberated tambourines and slightly unfaithful vocal attempts the sound is bleak and likewise engaging. You can liken it to something found in remedial math books where fractions are reversed. It is sometimes pop, sometimes country, a little too soon, and always ruining glory.
