LIE 101 LIE 101 APPLE ORCHARD - "Across Haymarket & The Triangle" (6 songs)

This is the second Apple Orchard tape to come out on our label and we could not be happier. Ryan Marquez (who is also behind Sodajerk and The Haircuts) crafts six more refined bits of homemade pop, including a lovely rendition of Ride’s “Vapourtrail”.

LIE 102 LIE 102 POCKETBOOKS - "Priorities" (9 songs)

Nine insightful and soft-spoken lo-fi tunes by a young singer/songwriter currently living in London, who writes his songs just as though each and every one of them were a page of a diary that chronicles everyday’s ups and downs, hopes and letdowns.

LIE 103 LIE 103 AUJOURD’HUI MADAME - "Les hommes modernes" (12 songs)

French band from Paris playing excellent power-pop with plenty of hooks and catchy melodies.

LIE 104 LIE 104 LE MAN AVEC LE LUNETTES - "Breasting the tape" (7 songs)

The first Italian band to ever be picked to perform at Sweden’s Emmaboda festival, so, if any of you out there thought indiepop did not belong to that corner of the world known as Italy, you were plain wrong. Pick this up and see for yourself.

LIE 105 LIE 105 DERELICT CARILLON - "Pretending to win" (6 songs)

Derelict Carillon comes from southern Italy (and I mean way down south) and is the second fabulous Italian indiepop act to cross ways with our label this year, which makes us feel proud of what we are doing, despite the limited means at our disposal, and fills our nighttime dreams of an Italian pop revolution that may be just around the corner if we just hung in there a little longer.

LIE 106 LIE 106 THE POSTCARDS - "At home with The Postcards" (11 songs)

You may argue that a band named after the legendary Postcard Records of Scotland may have a very hard time keeping up with that standard, but just give The Postcards a shot and this four-piece act from South London will prove to your ears to up to the task by playing an impeccable upbeat pop with jangly, chiming guitars and perfect melodies filed with memorable hooks.

LIE 107 LIE 107 SKITTLE ALLEY - "A charmingly perfect day" (10 songs)

Skittle Alley is Stephane, a young lad from Limoges France, who spends a lot of time looking at the world surrounding him and dwelling on feelings, emotions, relationships with his gentle acoustic guitar-driven tunes and soft-spoken lyrics.

LIE 108 LIE 108 THE EARLY MORNING STILLNESS IS BROKEN - "s/t" (4 songs)

Beautifully orchestrated, multi-layered sounds from Sweden, combining post-rock, electronica and slowcore.

LIE 109 LIE 109 INCHWORM - "Tapeworm" (3 songs)

Inchworm is the band Scott and Rob of Girlinky used to be members of prior to relocating from New Zealand to the United Kingdom. On this tape are the last three songs the band recorded before disbanding. Three thundering blasts of noise-pop, reminiscent of their fellow Kiwi shoegaze pioneers Bailter Space.

LIE 110 LIE 110 THERESA NOVA - "Gone" (8 songs)

French singer/songwriter Jean- Louis Massardier writes and records music that is aimed at describing those moments throughout the day when, in his own words, at the same time “everything around becomes beautiful and melancholy...”. Paying homage to his favourite dreampop bands from the late Eighties and early Nineties, he tells us stories of how everyday life is filled with coexisting opposites: spiritually uplifting states, such as love and affection, that may turn out to be the most painful as well and conditions that we often do our utmost to avoid, such as silence, distance and loneliness, that sometimes end up working as a source of healing, serenity and redemption with ourselves.
